I use this before my showers, or on "non wash days" when the hair is still fresh and clean, but it's a good idea to distribute oils throughout the hair. I have had such soft, beautiful hair since I started using it. Oh, by the way, I know all you curly girls are cringing that I brush my curls, but the brush is firm but soft so it's not damaging, and after the brushing when I'm frizzed out, I just spritz with water and the curls come back, or pin my hair back for the day.
