Bought this because I was already putting in an order and it was only like $8. It’s really neat, I keep it in my bathroom and use it most times I wash my hands in there. It succeeds in getting all the stuff out from under my nails every time. The wood seems of very good quality, and the finish is very nice. I’m a big fan of this brush, it’s cool and genuinely useful, especially for the price it’s a worthwhile addition to a home restroom.
But the design could use a little work to make the brush much more usable. I’m not quite sure what the big brush on the bottom is for; it’s probably for scrubbing the nail exterior, but it makes open storage of the angled brush (for guests etc) more awkward. The most useful way to keep the brush IME is angled side up, this makes bottom brush less appealing to use for anything by seeming less clean. It’s actually pretty unclear how/where this brush is intended to be kept conveniently. If the bottom was just finished wood like the sides, this brush would fit much more easily next to any sink.
Another issue may actually be caused by the high quality of the product. The finish on the wood is very good like I noted, but every time I use this brush, I have wet soapy hands. The finish seems very good and water resistant, but I always feel nervous handling such good quality wood directly with wet hands. I’m not sure if this affects the longevity of the product either. If there were some kind of material (rubber? the plastic you use for combs?)…
