Keepsakes can hold a special place in our lives. They act as vessels for emotion and memories that can serve as an enormous form of comfort and support through troubling times.
On his first day of basic training for the U.S Army, Michael Sanchez was handed a Kent brush from his mother and grandmother. The beloved brush belonged to his grandfather, who had purchased it when he joined the U.S Army himself in the early 1950s.
“After my grandfather passed, my family kept this brush as a reminder of him. I keep it with me all the time, either in the cargo pocket of my uniform or in my backpack when travelling. It has made me feel connected to him.” (Michael)
After seven years of service, Michael has now left the U.S. Army, and despite sadly never meeting his grandfather, the brush has served as a physical connection to him, his energy and his love. A totem of his bravery and a memory of his life.
“Now that I am a father, my son loves the brush, it’s as if he almost knows the family history behind it. I plan on giving it to my son, as did my family. I just wanted to share our story and say thank you for making such an amazing product.” (Michael)
